Ben
is the sire of:
2005
ABCR In-Hand Reserve Champion
2006 ABCR In-Hand Champion
|
|
*Ben
has been a member of the Homefire family since he was 4 months old.
Now, as an 8 year old, he is as gentle, sensible and mellow as an old
school gelding. We attribute his quiet and respectful nature to the
fact we raised him from such an early age. While not spoiled he was
handled regularly and has a healthy respect for his human handlers even
during breeding season. In the off season *Ben is also used as a
saddle horse but really only knows the basics at this time. It is
our goal to finish his training this year and perhaps even show him in
some pleasure classes at the fall shows.
Standing 14'3, *Ben is not an overly large horse but his offspring seem to
be of decent size. Of course they have inherited his easy going
temperament and a natural respect for the people around them. *Ben's
foals always surpass both sire and dam in looks, athleticism, temperament
and structure. We feel the consistent high quality and the *proven*
performance of his foals make him one of the leading curly horse sires and
one of the better kept secrets. We
have already retained two of Ben's daughters for the broodmare band and
hopefully another will join the ranks in 2008. Ben has
15 nice offspring on the ground. His foals can be found in Virginia,
Maryland, Vermont, Ontario and overseas in France. *Ben's eldest
offspring are now
under saddle and/or working in harness and are proving to be willing and capable students.
